124: i think happy thoughts … #20

Any guesses for what’s in this perfectly worn-out leather bag?

One word: BEAUTY.

This post is actually way overdue; even the mister asked why I had yet to post it up, given my excitement. Well, good things come to those who wait, no? And beautiful cameras come to those who [constantly] keep an eye out at flea markets.

It came with a dog-eared manual and the leather case;– which the stall owner mentioned piqued plenty of interest, but he insisted on waiting for someone to take the SX-70 with it;– and I couldn’t have been more thrilled that he didn’t let it go. Isn’t he a beauty? *swoons*

  1. WHOAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Did you clean him up???

    He looks brand new!!!

I dunno much about cameras but when you said “This is the camera that started polaroids” I was like “Whooooooooaaaaa!!!!”

I think the equivalent to me would be like owning Detective #27 or sumpthin! :D

  2. No I didn’t clean him up! He’s just gorgeous that way :P Thank you thank you thank you for letting me have him!

  3. Omg, you’re so lucky!! :D I’ve been wanting to get a SX-70 too because it’s so different from the other Polaroid cameras (but I’m really too lazy to search LOL but I guess I need to go to more flea markets now). If you have the film, please take something, anything, and post it up. And I fell in love with the leather case – it’s too handsome, I’m not sure if that’s the right word haha!

  4. That’s the problem, I don’t have the film! I know Impossible Project revived it, but it’s so expensive. An online shop sells it, but it’s only with purchase of a polaroid camera from them, so bleargh. And yes, very hemsem! :D

  5. omg, that just blew my mind!!! The camera leather case looks so awesome together and I can’t quite figure out how the leather case works but I don’t care! It’s like seeing transformer transform! :p such a beauty!

  6. Precisely! It’s like transformers isn’t it? And the stall owner asked the same as well; he said the people in the past must have had really small hands/fingers to be carrying the leather case like that :P I’ll probably find me a strap to attach to it :)

  7. The camera is really beautiful and the leather case is in really good condition!

  8. Yup, I really can’t figure out why anyone would’ve wanted to let go of the gorgeous leather case!
