Any guesses for what’s in this perfectly worn-out leather bag?

122: what’s in my bags;– 100710
Recently I’ve realised that one of the things the mister never fails to ask is whether my bag is heavy, and when he ‘carries’ it to see if I’m telling the truth, there are times when he would go “What’d you bring, man?!”. And so, I’ve decided to post a new hopefully-regular installment called What’s In My Bags. Why the plural? Coz I’ll be sharing what’s in my cosmetic bag (okay fine, it’s a pouch) too!

Bag of the Day: my favourite over-used bag purchased from FEP (thanks, mister!). Stiff boxy bag with a long strap and buckles;– that’s a definite winner in my books.

I have a weakness for anything in natural wood finishing. Plain, clean-cut, with no embellishments, just accentuating the natural beauty of wood. Being a tad environmental-conscious, that love doesn’t really bode well, save for special finds like this set of gorgeous recycled colour pencils. I saw another stationery set with wooden pencil sharpener initially, but just had to bring this home with me. Coloured tips on clean-cut beige wooden bodies within a gorgeous cylindrical case (doesn’t it remind you of that roll inside your kitchen serviette?);– a dream, I tell ya!

The parents returned earlier this week, and the father gave me the watch off his hand. I’m not much of a watch person, as I am with dainty feminine bracelets, but give me anything chunky and preferably with a tad of masculinity, I’m sold. Metallic, digital, triple folding clasp, rectangular face, and really chunky;– what’s there not to love?
Gorgeous 4 x 4 wooden box with embossed name
The interesting bit about the watch is that it shows two sets of time;– one is the current time, while the bottom one shows the next Islamic prayer time according to the state you’re in. And it even shows the qibla (direction for prayers) according to the moon/sun/north direction you’re in. GPS much?
On to more feminine matters, I finally succumbed to the temptations and got myself NYX rounds! I had resisted buying them earlier because buying cosmetics online is always tricky when it comes to swatches, particularly when I need to take into consideration skintone and pigmented lips. But of the three I purchased, I’m super impressed and in love with these two (the 3rd I gave away to the sister). Though the scent was pretty alarming initially (think Mama Lemon?), the moisturising factor sealed the deal for me.
In fact, I love these two (B52 and Thalia) so much that they’re depleting faster than my turn-to Rimmel and Revlon. Gah! I’m definitely going to try other shades, as well as their lipglosses next.
And last but not least, the much-raved and my personally-long-awaited Elf blush and bronzer duo finally came in the mailbox! Definitely worth the hunt, definitely worth the wait, and definitely worth the raves. The bronzer’s just perfect for my skintone, and the blush is an absolute delight for a pinch of flush. The packaging leaves much to be desired, though. Seeing how loose the powders are (see the ‘dust’ around the palette?), a plastic insert to protect the mirror would be great. But again, I’m trying my best not to hit pan with this too soon, though I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a definite go-to item.
